Thoughts on a Foggy Morning Hike
This morning I was walking along a trail that I frequent with my dog Monty. It’s a short loop by a tributary of the Humber River and we visit it often. This morning it was overcast and foggy. It was such a lovely morning, even if it looks kind of dark and gloomy in the photos.
I was struck with a thought while taking photographs. Every time I visit this place it looks different. Obviously the seasons change and that makes for the most dramatic differences. But day to day or even morning to evening, the light changes, leaves fall in autumn, or a winter storm puts down a fresh blanket of snow waiting to be spoiled with new footprints. One of the things that makes photography so enjoyable is the way observing things intentionally and closely makes you aware of these changes. Taking the time to capture what a person or a scene looks like today gives you a chance to remember it as it was and compare it to what it will become as time goes by. I hope you enjoy these images of what the trail had in store for me today.
